What we record

Named, cited, or left out.

  • Who is named. An answer can list several companies. We record each competitor you listed, and whether you are among them.
  • A mention does not always come with a citation. Some answers name a company and stop. Some also cite its site. We count mentions and citations separately.
  • Whether the answer came back at all. A failed answer is shown as failed, never as “not mentioned”.

Pages answers may send buyers to

A page that does not state a fact the buyer asked for.

  • The product page
  • The pricing page
  • The comparison page
  • The demo request form

A missing mention alone never establishes the cause. The improvement workflow in the Improvement plan sets the answer beside your confirmed facts and the live page.

Available now AI visibility check: up to 10 questions × 4 engines × 2 repeats = up to 80 planned answers by default. You start it yourself once your questions are confirmed; collection usually takes a few minutes.

FwdLink's own count, September 2026. All 50 companies were HR software vendors. We have not yet run the same study in other industries. In that count, 13.6% of answers to choosing questions named the company and 7.7% linked its own site.

How we measure → Glossary →

Is this the industry you counted?

Yes. The September 2026 research counted AI answers to choosing questions about 50 HR software vendors. It was exploratory research, not a customer result.

We sell to HR and to finance. Which buyer do the questions follow?

Pick one buyer per question set. Ten questions go further when they follow one buyer.

Can the answers include the big platforms?

Answers name whoever they name. We record those names as competitor appearances.
